Indian cricket team's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the India vs England home Test series. During India's tour of Australia, Ravindra Jadeja suffered an injury during the Ind vs Aus Sydney Test and his left thumb got fractured due to this. Jadeja has undergone a surgery and will take at least six weeks to recover. The India vs England four-match Test series starts on 5 February.

The England cricket team is coming to play a series of four Tests, five T20s and three ODIs on the Indian tour. The first two Tests will be played in Chennai while the remaining two Tests will take place at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. According to the report published in the Indian Express, the decision on Jadeja's participation in T20 and ODI series will be taken later.


The 32-year-old was not named in the Indian team selected for the first two Tests against England due to his injury. Jadeja was also unable to participate in the final and last Test match between India and Australia in Brisbane. He is currently undergoing a rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.


Ind vs Eng: Axar Patel to replace Ravindra Jadeja


Akshar Patel has been given a chance in the Indian team in place of Jadeja. Patel also bowls like Jadeja as he is a left-handed spinner and is capable of batting as well. The Indian team may have to suffer due to the absence of Jadeja as the pair of him and R Ashwin is very effective on Indian pitches. Apart from this, Jadeja has been a great performer in Test format in the last three years.
