Riding high on confidence, Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team on Saturday defeated England by an innings and 25 runs on Day 3 of the fourth and final Test at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium to clinch the four-match Test series 3-1 and seal berth in the World Test Championship final, where they will take on New Zealand at the Lord's from June 18-22.
Bowlers from both the teams delivered stand-out performances but India's veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and talented young off-spinner Axar Patel (last 5 innings - 5/60, 6/38, 5/32, 4/68, 5/48) picked up 17 wickets between them in fourth Test, to bowl England out for 205 in their first innings and then 135 in their second innings.

Earlier in the day, a crucial knock from Washington Sundar (96*) and Axar Patel (43) helped India put 365 on board and extend their lead to 160.
After opting to bat first, England scored 205 runs in their first innings. In reply to this, team India made 365-run first innings total to take a solid 160-run lead. R Ashwin and Axar Patel hunted in pairs to restrict England to 135 runs in 54.5 overs in their second innings and finally wrap up the series in just 3 days by beating them by an innings and 25 runs.
For England, Daniel Lawrence scored a hard-fought fifty off 95 balls with help of 4 boundaries. Skipper Joe Root scored 30 off 72 balls. Oli Pope and Ben Foakes scored 15 and 13 runs, respectively.
The first Test of Ind vs Eng 4-match Test series was played at Chennai, which England won, but India later bounced back to level the series 1-1 by winning the second Test. Ind vs Eng pink-ball Test (3rd Test), which was a day-night Test was also won by hosts to take a 2-1 lead. With a win in the final and fourth Test, India clinched the series 3-1 and sealed a spot in the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
