A pure masterclass from youngster Suryakumar Yadav (31-ball 57) and great bowling effort from Indian speedsters powered Indian cricket team to a remarkable 8 run win over England in a do-or-die clash at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday to level the five-match series 2-2.

An unbelievable onslaught from Jofra Archer (8-ball 18) almost took the game away from India in the last over but Shardul somehow managed to hold his nerves and end his over after giving away 14 runs and bagging a wicket to give his team a win and remain alive in the series.

This is the first time in the ongoing T20I series that a team that won the toss ended up as the losing side.

Suryakumar Yadav, who opened his account in international cricket with a six, today played arguably one of the best knocks of his life to rescue India after a top-order collapse.

For England, Ben Stokes scored the most 46 runs off 23 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. Jason Roy contributed with 40 runs, Jhonny Bairstow made 25 and David Malan scored 14 runs.

For India, Shardul Thakur took three wickets and Rahul Chahar and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged one wicket.

After England won the toss and asked India to bat first, Ben Stokes and Adil Rashid picked wickets in quick succession to remove KL Rahul and Virat Kohli very early. The hosts had lost the first 3 wickets in the first 10 overs.

Suryakumar then helped his team reach a respectable first-innings total by scoring his maiden T20I fifty with some glorious fours and sixes. Apart from Yadav, Shreyas Iyer provided the late fillip to take India to 185/8 in 20 overs.
