Team India, after a great outing in the Test series, had a very disappointing start in the T20 series against England. The Men in Blue suffered a crushing eight wicket defeat in the first T20 match, played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India skipper Virat Kohli could not even score a single run in this match, due to which an unwanted record has been registered in his name.

In Ind vs Eng 1st T20, Virat Kohli was dismissed by England leg-spinner Adil Rashid. This was the 14th time when Kohli got out for a duck as captain in international cricket.

After this, Virat has become the Indian captain who has been dismissed for a duck, most number of times across formats.

Before this, the unwanted record for most ducks was held by former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who has been out for zero,13 times in international cricket. MS Dhoni (11) is third in this list, Kapil Dev (10) is fourth and Mohammad Azharuddin (8) is at number five.

This is the 28th time in international matches when Kohli returned to the pavilion without opening his run account. However, the record of most number of ducks by an Indian batsman is held by Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin has been out for a duck 34 times in international cricket. After him, Virender Sehwag is the second in this list as he has been dismissed for zero 31 times in his career and Sourav Ganguly is third in the list with 29 ducks.
