Batting legend Virat Kohli, a crowd favorite at almost all cricketing venues across India, never shies away from expressing his emotions on and off the field. During the second Test of ongoing four-match India vs Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy in New Delhi, local boy Virat was spotted urging the crowd to shout India chants, instead of chanting IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Video of Virat's interaction with the crowd on Day 3 of Ind vs Aus 2nd Test went viral on social media. After Virat's request, the crowd in Delhi started 'India-India' chants.

Team India defeated Australia by 6 wickets in Delhi Test to take 2-0 lead in Border-Gavaskar trophy. Virat Kohli is currently struggling with poor form in Test cricket. In the ongoing Ind vs Aus Test series, Virat scored 76 runs at an average of 25.33 in the three innings he came out to bat. The RCB legend has played 22 Test matches for India since 2020, in which he has scored runs at an average of 26. His last Test century came against Bangladesh in 2019.

Since that Test century against Bangladesh, Virat scored 993 runs at an average of 26.13 in 22 Tests he played.


Before the ongoing Australia tour of India, Virat played a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, in which he could manage to notch up just 45 runs. Virat scored just 265 runs in six Tests in 2022 with an ordinary batting average of 26.50. 


Despite struggling to score runs in Tests, Virat recently attained a world record in Delhi Test against Australia. He now holds the world record for scoring the fastest 25,000 international runs.
