Amidst the chaos surrounding the politics in Punjab, a funny incident took place on Twitter. India's football goal-keeper, Amrinder Singh made an appeal to journalists and media persons to "stop tagging" him instead of the former Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh.

As the news about Capt Amarinder Singh resigning from the Congress floated in, many on Twitter supposedly have tagged the namesake of the former Punjab CM - footballer Amrinder Singh. Amrinder plays for Mohun Bagan and also was the captain of India's U-23 team.

In reply, Amrinder tweeted, "Dear News Media, Journalists, I am Amrinder Singh, Goalkeeper of Indian Football Team and not the Former Chief Minister of the State Punjab. Please stop tagging me."

Punjab's former CM also responded to his tweet. Check out his epic reply:

Captain "empathised" with his "young friend" and wished well for his future. Many on Twitter saw the funny side of it.

Amrinder has played seven matches for India's senior team and has played in Indian Super League with Mumbai City and ATK Mohun Bagan. He debuted in India's senior team during the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers

Meanwhile, Capt Amarinder also denied reports of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party as speculations were rife after he met Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Thursday.
