IND vs WI, 2nd ODI, TOSS:
Visakhapatnam (India vs West Indies ODI series): West Indies won the toss and opted to field first in the second ODI match against India at the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday. For the West Indies, Evin Lewis replaces Sunil Ambris while Khary Piere makes his debut for Hayden Walsh Jr. Shivam Dube makes way Shardul Thakur in the Indian squad for today's game.
"Sometimes, you just want to see what you have to do. And night cricket, the balls come onto the bat better. (On last winning an ODI series against India in 2006) That's all in the past. At the end of the day, we have to deal with the present and that's an opportunity to win a series and do the basics right," said West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard after winning the toss.
This is a crucial game for India which needs to get the bowling combination right after its abysmal performance in the firs ODI at Chennai. Winning today's match would keep the hosts afloat in three-match series.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli had blamed it on the conditions.
"We thought six bowling options will be good enough, specially with the pitch being slow and Kedar as an option...I think the ball wasn't holding enough for the fast bowlers," Kohli had said after the loss.
SP Hetmyer and SD Hope smashed sparkling tons in the first ODI and chased down the 287-run target posted by India effortlessly. The West Indies batsmen would again look to repeat their assault in order to win their first ODI series against India since 2006.
