New Delhi: India's U-19 team on Monday defeated Afghanistan by 4 wickets to qualify for the semi-finals of the Under-19 Asia Cup. On Thursday, India will now play the semi-final match against Pakistan.


Batting first, Afghanistan scored 259/4. In reply, Team India won the match by 4 wickets with the help of Harnoor Singh's classy half-century as he scored 65 runs off 74 balls with the help of 9 fours.


Earlier, he had powered team India to victory by scoring a match-winning century. Another significant contribution was from Raj Bawa, who scored an unbeaten 43 runs.


For Afghanistan, Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai starred with the bat as he played a fiery knock of 86 runs off just 68 balls. Ahmadzai's innings also included 7 long sixes. Apart from him, Suleiman Safi contributed with 73 runs off 86 balls.


Harnoor Singh's performance in the Under 19 Asia Cup has been excellent. He has scored 120, 46, and 65 runs in this tournament and is being touted as the next superstar of India. So far in the tournament, this young Indian young batter has scored 231 runs in 3 matches.
