The chairman of Mahindra Motors, Anand Mahindra kept his word and gifted SUV cars to two of India's gold medalists - Neeraj Chopra and Sumit Antil. Both of these athletes are India's top javelin throwers. Neeraj won gold in Tokyo Olympics while Sumit won the gold in Tokyo Paralympics.
Anand Mahindra had promised to gift a car to both these athletes. He kept his word and gave them Mahindra XUV700 cars. The Mahindra group chairman had previously gifted SUVs to India's sportsmen like Mohammed Siraj and T Natarajan after their brilliant performances down under in Australia.
Earlier this year, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra had tweeted "we will be privileged to gift XUV700" after Antil's Paralympics feat. He also gifted an SUV to Neeraj Chopra, India's second Olympic gold medalist.
India had a successful run in both the Olympics and the Paralympics. India won 19 medals in Paralympics while 7 medals in Olympics.
