RC Lens Stun PSG in Ligue 1 Clash
Thousands of fans had also queued up to greet the legendary footballer outside the Paris Airport.
Earlier this week, Messi and Neymar less PSG tasted their first defeat of the season against RC Lens. While Przemysław Frankowski's strike put RC Lens ahead in the 5th minute of the match, Hugo Ekitike did manage to equalise in the 8th minute. However, RC Lens were clearly the better team on the night with goals from Lois Openda and Alexis Claude Maurice sealing the deal for them.
Post the 3-1 win over current league table toppers, Lens defender Facundo Medina stated that the Paris club were missing the best player in the world, referring to Messi. He suggested that now with the World Cup trophy in his kitty there is no doubt that he is the best.
"I don’t like talking about the rival, but they were missing the best player in the world. Do you still have doubts that Messi’s the best? I think it’s a strange question you’re asking me. We have to enjoy him," Medina said after the match.
"I had my family here with me for the World Cup, I lived it with them and it was something incredible. We suffered, but like all Argentine fans, i’m more than happy with how everything turned out and with the group that was formed. Most of them did incredible and it makes me happy because I with most of them and that makes me very happy, I hope they continue that way," he added.
