Premier League side West Ham United have signed fellow Premier League side Manchester City's defensive midfielder, Kalvin Phillips on a season-long loan deal. The deal will see the Englishman ply his trade from Manchester to London for the remaining half of the season as the David Moyes-coached side has been looking for a replacement and the void left by superstar Declan Rice's departure to London rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window of 2023.

Kalvin Phillips' loan deal does include a buy option for the West Ham side but that will depend on the way Kalvin performs as he had troublesome past few years where he had even less than limited opportunites during his time at Pep Guardiola's side. The deal is yet subject to a medical, which will be taking place on Wednesday and if everything goes fine, the Englishman can be seen making his debut against Bournemouth in the Premier League fixture on February 2.

Kalvin Phillips' Career In A Nutshell

The 28-year old signed for Manchester City back in July 2022 and looked like a promising player after coming off from a spectacular season with then Premier League side, Leeds United. Across his eight years for Leeds United, he chipped in only 14 goals but what made him grab eyeballs of scouts and fans was his positioning and ball-winning ability deep in the field.

However, his tenure at Manchester City was nothing short of a disaster as the brilliant Manchester City side had all their bases covered and such has been the competition in the side past few years that even world class players like Leroy Sane, Ferran Torres found it tough to sustain.
