Salma Paralluelo's goal though was equalised by Sweden in the 88th minute when Rebecka Blomqvist found the back of the net. However, it was then that Spain captain Carmona scored a superb shot in the dying minutes of the match to make sure that Spain emerge victorious.

Spain's victory marks a special achievement for the country who had in the past never managed to go past the final 16 round at a Women's World Cup fixture. Moreover, it is also a special achievement since the team looked in all sorts of mess in the months preceding the competition.
The final of the competition will be played at Stadium Australia on Sunday (August 20) with the contest scheduled to kick off at 03:30 pm (IST).
