UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Quarter Finals: The UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Round 16 was full of spectacular comebacks and high-voltage drama and after a series of the mentioned events, Europe has its final eight for the secondary continental competitions and here are the quarter-finals after the draw on Friday, March 5:
- AC Milan Vs AS Roma
- Liverpool Vs Atalanta
- Bayer Leverkusen Vs West Ham United
- SL Benfica Vs Olympique Marseille
AC Milan are coming off a highly entertaining Round of 16 tie against Slavia Prague as they progressed 7-3 on aggregate. They face fellow Serie A side AS Roma in the quarter final, who have qualified after eliminating Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion 4-1 on aggregate. The tie promises to be a treat as AC Milan are one of the favourites to win the tournament, but AS Roma have breathed new life into their campaign ever since the arrival of club legend Danielle De Rossi at the helm.
In the second quarter final, Liverpool face another Italian side, in the form of Alatanta. Before their draw with AC Milan and defeats to Bologna and Inter (all in the Serie A), Atalanta was one of the most in-form sides in Europe and were on a winning streak, but now face probably the most dangerous side of the tournament, as Liverpool are as rampant as ever in front of the goal.
In the third quarter final, the undefeated and all-iconic Bayer Leverkusen side now turn their attention to West Ham United and the hammers are up against the uphill task of ousting the Xabi Alonso's side that haven't tasted even a single defeat this season.
The fourth and last quarter final will see SL Benfica and Olympique Marseille contest it out for a spot in the semi finals and both the underdog clubs can pose a threat for the favourites.
