The reason for the burst out was that the home side lost to their rivals via a late-winner and the defeat now sees the side miss out on an opportunity to take a cushion of a lead over 4th placed Besiktas, as thery are currently 3rd with 49 points in 30 matches.

Galatasary and Fenerbahce are the fiercest rivals ahd share the biggest rivalry in Turkey, and are going neck to neck this season for the league title. Galatasary has 81 points, and Fenerbahce has 79 points, in the same number of matches (30).
