French star striker Kylian Mbappe, in all likelihood, would join a new club after his two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires next year. In what comes as a massive update for Mbappe fans, the French club has allowed him to find a new team, prompting a battle for his services. Mbappe is now available in the transfer market and as per media reports, Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal made a record US$332 million (about Rs 2725 crore) bid for the star footballer on Monday.

If the deal happens, Mbappe would join Cristiano Ronaldo in the oil-rich kingdom. It looks like Paris Saint-Germain is determined to sell Mbappe in the market as they does not want him to part his ways with the club as a free agent under any circumstances. PSG have reportedly given Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal permission to open negotiations directly with the 2018 World Cup winner. The French club had earlier given Mbappe the option of a 12-month extension on his deal, signing a new contract but the footballer plans to walk away as a free agent at the end of the upcoming season.
Mbappe, who had signed a deal with PSG in 2022, had informed the club last month that he did not want to extend his contract beyond June 2024. After June 2024, he can extend his contract for one year which seems unlikely to happen.
