Premier League Title Race: Man City End Spurs Stadium Hoodoo With 2-0 Win, Sit One Win Away From PL Title

Premier League Title Race: Pep Guardiola's men have ended their goal-scoring drought at the Spurs' home stadium and get the decisive win. Here are the details from the PL fixture.

Premier League Title Race: Manchester City have passed the toughest test of their Premier League 2023/24 season, as Pep Guardiola's men have asserted their dominance over the top of the league by registering a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspurs. In the process, the Cityzens have also ended their goal-scoring hoodoo at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium as they score their first ever goal at the venue in the Premier League in 79 shots taken across all the past fixtures. This also marks their first ever victory at the venue in the Premier League, as Spurs shifted their base from White Hart Lane to Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium a few years ago.

Manchester City could not have chosen a better time to bring an end to one of the most adverse records under the Pep Guardiola reign, as they now sit at 1st with 88 points and walk into the final Matchday on Sunday with a two-point lead over Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspurs Vs Manchester City Premier League Matchday 34 Fixture Highlights

Due to domestic and European Cup duties, the Matchday 34 fixture between Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester City was rescheduled and the match started on an aggressive note from both the sides, as it was an end-to-end game but with no goals inside the half. Tottenham Hotspurs looked like dealing the first blood but failed to do so, and eventually it was a Kevin De Bruyne brilliance that broke the deadlock, as his inch-perfect low cross was tapped in by Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian was again on the mark, as he created a daylight distance between him and Cole Palmer for the Premier League Golden Boot race by scoring a decisive penalty in the added time of the second half to seal a memorable 2-0 win for Manchester City.

However, the moment of the match came in the 86th minute, as substitute keeper Stefan Ortega produced probably the most important save of his entire career, as Heung Min Son's 1v1 effort was deflected away by the foot of the German keeper. For his exceptional performance in such a short period, he was awarded the Player of the Match award.
