Manchester United have appointed Jason Wilcox as their new Technical Director, and the latter joins with an immediate effect. The official confirmation was given by the club on Friday, April 19 and the arrival of the former Director of football for Southampton FC thereby announces the beginning of the Jim Ratcliffe Era at the 'Theatre of Dreams', Old Trafford.










The decision, in the process, also confirms that former Technical director, Darren Fletcher, has stepped down rom his role and will be associated with a club in a whole different role, by looking after the footballing operations of the first-team. The role will consist of looking after their academy and the overall set-up, by beingb involved with the leadership team.


A Premier League winner with Blackburn Rovers in 1995, Jason Wilcox, as reported by The Telegraph, is set to appoint Dan Ashworth as the new Sporting director of the Red Devils, and in the porcess, will now reunite with former colleague Omar Berrada (during their time at Manchester City), who will be Manchester United's Chief executive from July 2024.

Jason was previously Director of Football at Southampton and before that Academy Director at Manchester City. As a player he won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers in 1995," read the statement.
