Lionel Messi, who made his return to the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) side, after serving a suspension for his unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, was greeted with boos by some fans at the Parc des Princes during their match against AC Ajaccio on Saturday. The seven-time Ballon d'Or Winner made his way straight back to the starting XI for the Parisians as an attacking midfielder and did put in a decent performance. However, with reports suggesting that his exit from the club is more or less confirmed, a section of the home fans were not pleased at his sight.
The match, however, was dominated by the home team who went on to the win the home match 5-0. Messi also did manage to make his presence felt with his dribbles and passes, although he did not score. Fabian Ruiz netted the opening goal for the Ligue 1 giants in the 22nd minute. The lead was then doubled by Achraf Hakimi eleven minutes later who found the back of the net in the 33rd minute. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace, netting a goal in the 47th and the 54th minute. The final goal of the night was an own goal from Mohamed Youssouf in the 77th minute.
Meanwhile, it is being learned that the superstar Argentine has received an offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. The same has been confirmed by various credible media organisations including AFP and Reuters. The offer is also reportedly the only one that Messi has got so far ahead of the summer transfer window. Argentine media report has claimed that the offer is around $400 million a year, even though the exact figure is not yet known.
Messi led Argentina to a FIFA World Cup triumph in December last year which was the only major trophy missing from his cabinet. If the deal with Al-Hilal materialises then that would mean Messi will reunite with his long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League who is currently plying his trade for Al-Nassr.
