While Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe has been linked to a transfer to Real Madrid for a long time now, seems like the negotiations have reached an advanced stage with the transfer reportedly set to happen this summer. The news has been confirmed in a report carried by Le Parisien among other credibe media reports.

While a report carried by ESPN had claimed that Mbappe had been offered a contract by the Spanish giants last month, as per a source, he is likely to announce his decision to part ways with the Ligue 1 giants and joins hands with Madrid next week. Even though there has not been an official confirmation from either PSG or Madrid, it is being reportd that the decision has been made.

The 25-year-old has made his willingness to play for France in the Olympic Games to be staged in Paris later in the year and Madrid's approval was a major part of the negotiations between the two parties. Having said that, there was verbal agreement even in 2022 which was when Mbappe had made a dramatic U-turn to remain with the French side. Hence, unless an official confirmation comes, things would be hard to believe even this time around.

Mbappe Idolised Real Madrid Legends

Notably, the French captain has gone on record saying that he idolised players like Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo both of whom happen to be legends of Real Madrid. Thus, Mbappe too wants to join the club, following their footprints. Meanwhile, a source close to ESPN has informed them that the player reckons this is just the right time in his career to move to Madrid and leave his mark as a footballer in the Spanish capital.

Should the dead indeed materailise, which most certainly looks to be the case, PSG could rope in AC Milan's Rafael Leao as a potential signee to replace the vaccum left by Mbappe's departure.
