Kylian Mbappe's farewell in his final home game for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) unfolded in a sour manner in the Ligue 1 match at Parc des Princes on May 12 (Sunday). Despite starting the game with a goal, things took a disappointing turn as PSG suffered a 1-3 defeat to Toulouse. This unexpected outcome led to Mbappe being booed by the home supporters, casting a shadow over what was meant to be a memorable occasion.
The departure of the forward from the recently crowned French champions, with a probable move to Real Madrid, has been a topic of speculation for a while. However, he confirmed the news himself last week via social media. Prior to the match, when PSG announced their lineup and Mbappe's name was called, the PSG fans made their sentiments heard loud and clear toward Mbappe.
The video of fans booing when Mbappe’s name was announced was caught in a video recorded by one of the fans present in the stadium. Interestingly, both Lionel Messi and Neymar had also faced booing from the PSG fans before their exits earlier in the season. Mbappe's departure was further compounded by the team's failure to secure a victory in their home game against Toulouse, making the occasion even more painful for the fans.

He stated that he will not be extending his contract and the current adventure with the club will conclude in a few weeks.
“I’ve always said I would speak with you when the time comes. So, I wanted to announce you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to and in a few weeks,” he mentioned in the video.
