Former FC Barcelona legend Ivan Rakitic has terminated his contract with Sevilla FC and has departed the club with immediate effect. The midfielder will reportedly join Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab as the Saudi Arabian league looks to add more star prowess to its recently-earned popularity.






 


Ivan Rakitic had rejoined Sevilla FC back in 2020, after a trophy-laden career at legendary club, FC Barcelona. The Croatian even won the highly prestigious 'Treble' with FC Barcelona in 2014-15 season as the Catalan club ended up winning five trophies in the 2015 calendar year.


Upon rejoining the club he joined back in 2011 for the very first time, the iconic midfielder led the club to yet another Europa League in the 2022/23 season, when they got rid of Jose Mourinho's AS Roma in the final on penalties, thereby, brining an end to a cent percent record of Jose Mourinho in the European finals.


It was an emotional farewell for the 35-year old as he has been a fan favourite for the Sevilla faithful his entire career and bid an emotional farewell to Sevilla FC and its fans on January 30.
