Euro 2024: Xherdan Shaqiri and Euros will go down in history as one of the best pairings in football. Whenever Euros arrive, Xherdan Shaqiri, out of nowhere, manages to score a goal for a lifetime. In his past appearances at the Euros, Xherdan Shaqiri has not failed to score and each time he has managed a goal, it was either a screamer, or a contender for 'Goal of the Tournament'.

Euro 2024 is no different, as the 'Swiss Maestro' manages to score one of the best goals of the tournament against Scotland during Switzerland Vs Scotland Euro 2024 Group A fixture. With the goal, Xherdan Shaqiri has become the first footballer to score at Euros while playing for a club from North or South America. Xherdan Shaqiri currently plays for Chicago Fire FC in the Major League Soccer 2024. He joined the club in February 2022 from Olympique Lyon.

Switzerland Vs Scotland Euro 2024 Group A Fixture Highlights

Scotland stunned the Swiss after taking an early lead in the 13th minute via Manchester United's Scott McTominay, as the midfielder was assisted for the opener by Callum McGregor.

It did not take long for the Swiss to respond back, as Xherdan Shaqiri smashed a stunning curling strike off the first touch outside the box into the top left corner, and the Scottish keeper stood no chance even on his near post.

However, several goal attempts took place afterwards but the defences of the either side were not breached further and the game ended in an entertaining stalemate, as the scoreline read 1-1 at the full-time whistle.

With the result, Scotland have opened their account at Euro 2024, but stand a bleak chance of qualifying for the knockout stages, as they will be up against a Hungary team who have been extremely unlucky with the results, but have troubled the likes of Germany and Switzerland a lot.
