Euro 2024: FC Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has been selected in the final squad of Spain for Euro 2024, as Euro 2008 and 2012 winners are hoping to do better than what they did last time around. Spain finished as semi-finalists in Euro 2020, after losing to eventual winners Italy via penalty shootout. This time around, they are with a different manager and a whole new squad consisting of young players.

Lamine Yamal has grabbed the headlines for hilarious reasons, as he is set to carry his 'school homework' in order to keep his 'teachers happy'. The 16-year old is still in high school and is one of the youngest players ever to feature in a national squad for Euros.

"I was watching the European Championship lying on the sofa with my mother. We're not here for a stroll, but to make history. I hope to go far in the Euro, so I'll watch the Games on TV. I've brought my homework because I'm in the 4th year of ESO (the last year of compulsory school study), I have classes on the web and I'm doing well; I hope the teacher doesn't search me," told Lamine Yamal to AS, as reported by Goal.
