France manager Didier Deschamps has attracted eyebrows on him after he left out captain Kylian Mabppe out of the squad for the UEFA Nations League matches against Israel and Belgium. Deschamps denied that there was any animosity between him and Mbappe even though he did not choose to play Mbappe, one of their country's best players, in the UEFA tournament.


And the fact that Mbappe was spotted in a Swedish nightclub on the same night as France squared off against Israel. The reason for Mbappe's exclusion is to give enough time to recover from injury to the French star. However, instead of rehab and recovery, Mbappe was seen in the nightclub. Deschamps, however, said that he is not aware that Mbappe is in Sweden.

"I don’t follow the news of players who are not here, Kylian is following a programme with Real Madrid, I don’t know if he was away or not. Like any player for his club, he follows a programme. If players have days off, they are free to do what they want," Deschamps said as quoted in a report by Goal.


Mbappe Only Wants To Play 'Important' Matches For France: Report


It is pertinent to note that rumours of a rift between Mbappe and his manager Deschamps surfaced after it was reported by Foot Mercato that the football superstar had told the coach that he only wanted to play in 'important' international matches so that he can try and win the Ballon d'Or 2025.

The report added that Mbappe wanted to stay fit so that he can play as many matches for Real Madrid as possible. With Mbappe rested for the international break, he is likely to take part in Real Madrid's match against Celta Vigo on October 19. Los Blancos will take on Borussia Dortmund in their UEFA Champions League fixture three days later.
