Copa America 2024 Award Winners: Argentina won their second Copa America title in a row after beating Colombia 1-0 in what was a dramatic final at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida. The win has now taken Le Albiceleste to a record 16 Copa America titles. Earlier, Argentina were tied with Uruguay at 15 for the record of most number of titles which they now own solely.

The win has also ensured that Argentina become the first South American team to win a Copa America then follow it up with a FIFA World Cup victory and then go back to reclaim their Copa America title. Previously, Spain had been the other team to win a FIFA World Cup between going back-to-back at continental tournament titles- winning Euro 2008 and Euro 2012, sandwiching the FIFA World Cup win in 2010.

The win also means that Argentina have been able to win three major tournamnets in a row for the first time since 1945-47. Back then they had managed to complete a hat-trick of Copa America titles. It was a hard-earned win for the Argentines who were up against Colombia who had been unbeaten in 28 matches before this fixture.

Colombia's loss ended the longest unbeaten streak in their team history with this marking their first loss under their coach Néstor Lorenzo.
