Brazil's Historic Loss To Paraguay: Brazil are enduring one of the worst footballing runs in their history, as ever since winning the Copa America 2019, the Selecao have been on a downhill run. The FIFA World Cup 2022 saw them bow out at the quarter final stage, in a tournament where they were pipped as heavy favourites, as Neymar's world class performance was not enough to secure a berth in semis, with rest of the Brazil players failing to step up on the occasion.

The Copa America 2024 was a horrendous run for the side which ended in an early elimination (quarter final defeat to Uruguay), and now, the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers are proving to be the same, with them handing Paraguay their first win in 16 years against the opposition.

Paraguay's last win against Bazil came in the year 2008, and with the defeat, Brazil are no languishing at 5th with 10 points in 8 games.

Paraguay hosted Brazil in what was a crucial fixture for them, as they were coming off a draw against Uruguay, a result which was a matter of surprise for football fans around the world.

A world class goal from Diego Gomez in the 20th minute was enough to seal the deal for Paraguay, as the game ended 1-0 in favour od the home side.

Brazil Record Personal-Worst WC Qualifying Campaign Of The Century

Before the commencement of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualification CONMEBOL, Brazil were tipped to finish in the Top 3 with ease. But, fast forward 2 years, the rise of Uruguay and Colombia, alongside purple patch run of Ecuador have surprised the South American fans, and Brazil, on the other hand, have recorded 4 defeats already in this campaign.

Before this, Brazil had merely recorded 5 defeats in 71 matches, but this campaign has seen the side win 3, lose 4, and draw 1 out of their 8 fixtures played so far.
