Middlesbrough: England football fans boo their own team as the players take the knee before the start of the international friendly between England and Romania. A similar incident took place on Wednesday when England played Austria at the same Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough, England.

Teams across Europe have been taking the knee in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement which garnered attention after the death of George Floyd in police custody in the USA. This gesture by the fans was deemed distasteful on social media. Many criticized the boo's from the Middlesbrough crowd.
