Kashmir has a rich history of art and it exists in various forms throughout the valley. An elderly Kashmiri artist, Shabbir Ahmed has painted a magnificent portrait of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. The painting has some striking colours, bold lines, and background tapestry that makes it look very realistic.

It is understood that the painting has been made in the Basohli art form that originated in Jammu. The painting is a visual delight for art lovers.

Anushka and Virat are one of the most desirable couples in India. Virat Kohli is loved all over the country for his innumerable batting performances. Ahmed's father too is a great admirer of Virat Kohli, and that motivated him to paint such a portrait.

Ahmed wants the painting to reach Virat Kohli so that it will give him some recognition, he told Brighter Kashmir.

“It has taken me about six months to make this painting. Yes, I would like both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma to see this painting. This will give encouragement and support to my Baba (father), who really like the way he bats,” Shabbir Ahmed told Brighter Kashmir.

"Whenever he plays, the whole of India knows that the country is going to win, and when he gets out, the match becomes one-sided; that is why I like him so much. That’s why I made this painting and my wish is that this painting reaches him somehow. That will be something that will give me recognition," he said further.
