World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE): Scottish professional wrestler Andrew Galloway, who's popularly known as Drew McIntyre in WWE, has lately become a fan favourite inspite of playing as a 'heel' character in WWE, given his recent antics with his in-ring ability and on-mic skills. The WWE Superstar, who's famously called as "Scottish Psychopath", stands at 6 ft 5 inches and is a former two-time WWE Champion.
During his first stint as WWE Champion, the 38-year old fared out extremely well in his title defence as his bouts with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, and many more gained much prominence, but was marred by the lack of WWE Universe's presence at the main events due to the then-prevailing COVID-19 and pandemic restrictions.
However, his second title reign didn't appeal the fans much and slowly and gradually, under the reign of highly controversial Vince McMahon, the wrestler was shifted from main card, to the mid card. It took almost an unprecedented effort from Drew McIntyre to gain main event prominence, which came against Roman Reigns, when the duo collided for the WWE Universal Championship at the Clash of the Castle, but Drew lost the match.
Even against Seth Rollins, Drew hasn't gained much of an advantage and has find himself being second fiddle to the "Revolutionary" Seth Rollins.
Drew McIntyre's Career-Defining Heel Turn
Drew McIntyre was undergoing immense pressure as title opportunities were sliding past him. However, as soon as Triple H was restored into the power after the Vince McMahon's infamous removal, the former 14-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion revived the career of Drew McIntyre and the Scottish Psychopath debuted his all-new gimmick of a cold-hearted, trash-talking heel, who runs his mouth in every matter in concern with the top dogs of the industry.
The gimmick started making fans boo him initially but such was his brilliance that he started winning hearts of WWE Universe as several review channels, experts, and WWE lovers started paising his work and with each passing week, Drew McIntyre became the selling point of Monday Night Raw.
Drew McIntyre reached his prime in the month of January 2024, when he debuted his merch in concern with the injury to CM Punk at WWE Royal Rumble 2024, which ended the "Voice of the Voiceless's" hopes of making it to Wrestlemania 40, and the merchandise went viral and gained huge praise from former wrestlers.
Drew McIntyre is in the form of his life, be it his in-ring abilities or his highly improved mic skills, which have left the fans amazed and his unscripted segments with Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, and most famously, with CM Punk are a highlight reel every time it comes up and fans are highly anticipating for Drew McIntyre to beat Seth Rollins at Westlemania 40 to win the World Heavyweight Championship, as the 38-year old has never won a world title in front of live audience in a stadium.
Drew also deserves a title run, given his antics and the nature of injury of Seth Rollins has in his knees and his back, and a title loss at the grandest stage of them all will give Seth Rollins a much needed time off-ring, which the "Architect" can use for rehabilition and surgery of his injured back and knees.
