New Delhi: Indian women's badminton star and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu on Monday won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 in Birmingham. World No. 7 Sindhu is getting praises from fans and celebrities from all over the world for winning her maiden individual Commonwealth Games gold in badminton women's singles event. Australian senior opener David Warner too praised Sindhu for her remarkable success. The left-handed Aussie batter shared a heartfelt post on Instagram to appreciate the achievements of the Indian shuttler. Warner's wife Candice too reacted to her husband's appreciation post.

Posting Sindhu's photo on Instagram, Warner wrote, "'Well done @pvsindhu1 amazing achievement, complete." Commenting on his post, Warner's wife Candice wrote, "so good." 






Sindhu on Monday won the gold medal in badminton women's singles by defeating 13th-ranked Canadian Michelle Lee 21-15, 21-13.






Sindhu won the bronze medal in 2014, while Michelle clinched the gold medal the same year. The gold medal win in CWG 2022 was PV Sindhu's ninth overall win against Mitchell in 11 matches.


"I'm very happy, waited for this for long. CWG comes once in 4yrs & my set of Bronze, Silver, Gold is now complete. It's imp for an athlete to be mentally & physically fit. Thanks to my coach, physio & trainer," said star shuttler PV Sindhu after winning the gold medal at CWG 2022.
