Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini felicitated India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who was part of India's T20 World Cup-winning squad in the United States of America (USA) and West Indies. While the CM put out a message of gratitude for the leggie, he gifted a scarf and an idol to Chahal.


Notably, while Chahal was part of India's 15-member contingent, he could not make it to the Playing 11 in any of the matches with India opting for three spinners- Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel in the Caribbean islands.

India Beat South Africa In A Thrilling Final In Barbados


As far as India's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign is concerned, the Men in Blue became the first team to go unbeaten and lift the T20 World Cup trophy. They beat South Africa in a thrilling final with the match seemed to have slipped away from them at one stage.

With 30 needed of 30 deliveries and 6 wickets in hand, the Proteas were running away with the match and were touching distance away from a maiden ICC title but Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, coupled with fielding effort best demonstrated by Suryakumar Yadav's last-over catch of David Miller and tactical brilliance of captain Rohit Sharma, India snatches victory from the jaws of defeat to end a world title drought of 11 years.
