As of now, England's Joe Root is the top run-scorer in 2023-2025 edition of World Test Championship (WTC) with 1,398 runs in 29 innings over 16 matches. India's Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently in second place and has closed the gap with Root after scoring half-centuries in both innings of IND vs BAN Kanpur Test.


The Indian batting star has scored 1,217 runs in 20 innings over 11 matches in ongoing World Test Championship 2023-2025 cycle. So far, only two batters have exceeded 1,200 runs in the ongoing WTC edition.


England's Ben Duckett is in third place, with 1,028 runs in 20 innings from 16 matches. No other batter so far has crossed the 1,000-run threshold in World Test Championship 2023-2025 cycle.
