What makes this feat even more astonishing is the fact that the right arm off-spinner has attained the feat in 39 Test series, compared to 60 of the Sri Lanka legend. Ravichandran Ashwin bagged 11 wickets and scored one century throughout the two-match series, as India won the Test series 2-0.
Here's What Ravichandran Ashwin Said During Post-Match Presentation Ceremony
"Very glad that I have managed to perform for the team. Lot of bowlers contributed today. Massive win for us looking at the WTC points table. When we bowled them out yesterday, Rohit was very keen and said that we needed almost 80 overs to bowl at them and told us that we will go hard straightaway and went out and hit his first ball for six, everyone follows that. Lovely to see how Jassi bowled, how Akash and Siraj turned up. Nothing to say about Jaddu."
"With the new ball you get a bit more bite. The more you give overspin, it gets harder so you need to change things up. You need to make those sorts of adjustments. I am happy to be compelled to bowl the carrom ball. I am happy to be settled. I can bring different subtle variations and settle in the game."
