South Africa will take on Bangladesh in a World Cup encounter at the Kenninton Oval at London on Sunday. The match is scheduled to commence at 3 pm (IST).

The Proteas who lost their opening game to hosts England by a huge margin would look to get back their campaingn on track with a win under their belt. Bangladesh, on the other hand would also want to get their tournament off to winning note by registering a win.

Faf Du Plessis led Proteas who enjoy an overwhelming win record against their Asian opponents in their overall ODI encounters and at the World Cups  would be wary of Bangladesh's giant killing instincts.

South Africa go into the match without their pace spearhead Dale Steyn who has been ruled out due to injury. The Proteas could also miss on the services of their veteran opener Hashim Amla who sat out practice on Saturday after suffering concussion in the World Cup opener.

The 36-year-old Amla was forced to retire hurt after being struck on the helmet by a short delivery from Jofra Archer in South Africa's opener against England.

The South African batting order seemed to be all at sea against England with only opener Quinton De Cock managing to register a half century.Skipper Du Plessis and seasoned middle order batsman JP Duminy need to take charge and lead from the front. The Proteas do bat deep and the likes of David Miller, Chris Morris and need to provide the last flourish towards the end.

In Steyn's absence, Rabada and Ngidi will once again lead the seam attack which could feature Morris and . South African bowlers fared well against England by consistently picking up wickets and limiting them to a manageable 311 total.

Bangladesh are no pushovers and have proven to be giant killers at the big stage time again. They have the arsenal both with bat and ball to give the best sides a run for their money. They are some game changers in Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mustafizur Rahman and their star allrounder Shakib Al Hassan

Much like South Africa, Bangladesh have their own injury concerns to address ahead of their world cup opener.

Mashrafe Mortaza hopes to be fit to captain the team despite suffering a hamstring strain while bowling during their warm-up match against India on Tuesday

"A lot of times in such cases I face trouble bowling the first one or two overs. Once I get through that, I don't face any more problems," he told Dhaka-based bdnews24.

"But I pulled a hamstring during the sixth over," he added. "I could have stopped after four or five overs but Rohit (Sharma) and (Virat) Kohli were looking to score runs quickly during that period. I felt that I needed to practise bowling in such a situation."

Opener Tamim Iqbal did not play against India due to a thigh strain, is racing ahead time to be fit to face South Africa.
