World Cup 2019: Dhoni Fans Point Out Karma’ As The Reason Behind Guptill's Run-Out In Super Over

Guptill’s run-out in the super over restricted New Zealand to 15, thus helping England to win their maiden World Cup title

New Zealand’s star opener Martin Guptill has had a remarkable tournament with the bat but the cricketing fans will always remember him for the two run-outs he was involved in. On July 11, the Kiwis defeated India by 18 runs in the first semifinal of the ICC World Cup played at the Old Trafford cricket ground at Manchester to secure a berth in the grand finale of the marquee event. Credit for the mega win should go to Guptill for that superb run out of MS Dhoni. A video of Dhoni’s dejected look, on his way back to the pavilion went viral. Fans on Twitter called it “heartbreaking” to see India former captain in tears. Come July 14, needing 16 to pull off a sensational win, Guptill and Neesham equaled the target, but England won the title owing to superior boundary count. New Zealand needed 2 runs off the final ball but Guptill’s run-out in the super over restricted New Zealand to 15, thus helping England to win their maiden World Cup title. MS Dhoni fans didn’t miss the opportunity to point out Karma’ as the main reason behind Guptill’s run-out in the super over.
