The Indian Women’s cricket team outplayed Thailand Women by 74 runs and entered the Asia Cup final on Thursday. While chasing a total of 149 runs, Thailand collapsed and could only score 74 runs in 20 overs.
Thailand’s Naruemol Chaiwai and Nattaya Boochatham made 21 runs each. Deepti Sharma starred for India as she scalped three wickets and conceded just 7 runs.
After batting first, India scored 148 runs with the help of Shafali Verma’s 42. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues made 36 and 27 respectively. For Thailand, Sornnarin Tippoch was at the pick as she picked up 3/24.
India will now be facing the winner of the second semi-final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
