Women's Asia Cup 2024: Pakistan Women humbled UAE Women by 10 wickets, and have now progressed into the semi-finals of the Women's Asia Cup 2024. They will be progressing as the second-best team from the group, as India have a much superior net run rate and a game left to play, which they will most likely win.
With the defeat, UAE Women ended their campaign with 3 straight losses and bowed out of the tournament winless, and as for Pakistan Women, two consecutive victories will surely boost their morale for the semi final fixture against Sri Lanka Women.
"I'm just enjoying my time. Just try to go with the plan. I think I took confidence from my last game and try to play the same knock. I tried my level best. There is no such plan to take down the spinners. I try to keep it simple," said Gul Feroza, who was awarded the Man of the Match.
Here's What The Two Captains Said During The Post Match Presentation Ceremony
Esha Oza (UAE Women Captain):
"Every game is a learning experience. When it is a short tournament of just three games, you have to put your best foot forward in the first game. We wanted to go above the run-a-ball minimum. Anything around 140-150 would have been a good score. We had the opportunity. When you are playing against the high-quality players, you can't give them second chances. We played the first Asia Cup in 2022. Our team has grown a fair bit. After this tournament, we will certainly go upwards."
Nida Dar (Pakistan Women Captain):
"We spoke to the batting unit and they played with positive intent. Against India we didn't execute our plans well but we sat down and got our plans in place. I wanted to give other bowlers the chance to do the job so came in late in the innings."
