GT20 Canada 2024: Montreal Tigers opener Dilpreet Bajwa, on Tuesday, July 30 (Wednesday, July 31, as per Indian Standard Time) created history, as he became the first ever Canadian to score a century in the league's history. The 23-year old talented batsman achieved the feat against Brampton Wolves at CAA Centre Brampton in Ontario, as he needed merely 53 balls to attain the feat.

Dilpreet Bajwa's knock came at a vital time for Montreal Tigers, as they were reeling at 95/5 in 15 overs, and Dilpreet's onslaught resulted in the side scoring 71 runs in the last 5 overs to reach an above-par total, and bowlers did exceptionally well to deliver a 42-run win for the side.
"It was an amazing feeling as it was the first century of the tournament. During the break, the skipper came in and told me to accelerate the game, so I just followed his instructions. I was keeping an eye on the scoreboard. I thought 19th over is the over to take the charge and added some important runs," said Dilpreet Bajwa after being awarded the Player of the Match.
