Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team has landed at the Hyderabad airport ahead of the ICC Men's World Cup 2023. The marquee event is set to commence at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5 with England taking on New Zealand in the tournament opener. Before the world event though, Pakistan have to play a couple of warm-up matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad which is also the venue which will host Pakistan's campaign opener against the Netherlands on October 6.

As the two teams don't play bilateral cricket anymore, this is the first time that Pakistan have set foot on Indian soil in seven years. The last time a Pakistani side played in India was at the T20 World Cup 2016 which was hosted by India. Following Pakistan's arrival in India, "Welcome To India" starting trending on social media site X (formerly Twitter).
