The Bangladesh Cricket team set to participate in the ICC Men's World Cup 2023 has arrived in India on Wednesday (September 27). While the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had announced the squad that will fly to India for the marquee event only on Tuesday with Tamim Iqbal not being included due to his persistent back injury, they had little time on their hands and sent the same set of players to Guwahati a day after. A video of the team, which is being led by star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, arriving at their designated hotel in Assam has gone viral.

Notably, while Guwahati is not one of the venues that will host World Cup fixtures, they are one of the three venues which will host warm-up fixtures with Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad being the other two. Hyderabad is the only venue which is hosting World Cup warm-up matches as well as the ODIs that will be part of the World Cup.

As far as Bangladesh are concerned, they are set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in their first warm-up fixture in Guwahati. Their second and final warm-up match is also set to be played at the same venue on October 2. Bangladesh will begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on October 7.
