New Delhi: Defending Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad registered comfortable win by 48-runs against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Skipper David Warner played a brilliant 126-run knock to guide Hyderabad to 209/3 in the high voltage encounter.
Kolkata lost two quick wickets during the chase but it was Robin Uthappa who held the ground to score a brilliant fifty. However, the in-form Kolkata wicketkeeper-batsman has made headlines for all wrong reasons.
Robin Uthappa’s knock started with a tussle with Hyderabad pacer Siddharth Kaul. Kaul bowled superb first over by scalping Gautam Gambhir for a low score and forced Uthappa to play two dot balls but the bowler was hit for boundary on the last ball of the over, after which Uthappa, who was crossing the bowler shouldered him and exchanged some words.
This act from Uthappa angered Kaul but it was smart from Kaul to not react to the tease.
The matter seemed to have resolved after umpire S Ravi intervened but when the rain interrupted the after seven overs of play, Kaul’s teammate and India international, Yuvraj Singh ran down to Uthappa to share words of wisdom and a warning as the players walked towards the dressing room.
