The Men in Blue is ready to lock horns with the Men in Green on September 2 in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 in Kandy. Both teams practiced under lights in Pallekele Stadium ahead of their high-voltage clash. After sweating in the nets, former India skipper Virat Kohli was spotted chatting with Pakistan players. The Delhi-based player shared a laugh with Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Haris Rauf.
A video of the same has gone viral on social media where Kohli was seen having a long conversation with Pakistan wrist spinner Shadab Khan near the dressing room. After chatting with the Pakistan players, Kohli went on to hug Haris Rauf on the ground. The face-off between the two in the upcoming match will be one of the most exciting battles to watch.
Recently, Virat also spoke about the game against Pakistan and he said that Pakistan has a strong bowling lineup and hence he needs to give his best.
“I feel bowling is their strength. And they’ve got some really impactful bowlers that can change the course of the game anytime based on their skill set. So, you have to be at your absolute best to face them”, Kohli told Star Sports.
“I only try to understand how I can better my game. Every day, every practice session, every year, every season, this is what has helped me play this well for so long and to perform for my team,” he concluded.
All eyes will be on Kohli as his last knock against Pakistan is still fresh in every cricket fan’s mind. Kohli ended up scoring 82 runs and single-handedly won the game for his team during the last T20 World Cup.
