Ind Vs Aus, 3rd Test: In the ongoing third Test between India and Australia, the pitch has created a lot of chaos ever since day 1. A lot of former cricketers have criticized Indore’s wicket after 14 wickets fell on Day 1 with India being restricted to just 109 runs in the first innings.
On Day 2, Australia were also bundled for 197 after losing the remaining six wickets within 41 runs. The Indian team while batting in their second innings, lost both the openers Shubman Gill (5) and Rohit Sharma (12) in quick succession. Aussie off-spinner Nathan Lyon scalped both the wickets. The match took a dramatic turn in the 29th over of the innings when India’s star batter Virat Kohli was stunned after seeing the sharp turn and bounce off Matthew Kuhnemann's delivery. The ball ended up going to the boundary rope, Kohli seemed clueless while playing that delivery. He was looking to cut that delivery but ended up edging the ball over the slips.
Earlier, only 30 runs were made in 16 overs in the first hour of the game as Indians restricted the Kangaroos to just 197 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Umesh Yadav starred with the ball and picked three wickets each to power India to a commanding position. Speedster Umesh Yadav also scripted history for India as he picked 100 Test wickets on Indian soil on day 2 at Indore. He took 31 Tests to achieve this milestone. It was the wicket of Mitchell Starc that helped Umesh get into record books.
Team India are currently batting at 114/5 with Cheteshwar Pujara and Srikar Bharat are battling against the Australian bowlers. Rohit Sharma’s men are leading the four-match Test series 2-0 and have sealed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. If the hosts win this game, they will play in the World Test Championship final between June 7-11 at the Oval.
