India vs England 4th T20I was a do-or-die game for team India. After a slow start it was imperative for the Indian batsman to increase the run scoring rate. India’s score was 21-1 in the fourth over when Suryakumar Yadav came in to bat at number three for India. This was Suryakumar Yadav’s debut in International cricket. Usually when batsmen are facing their first balls in cricket, they tend to come under pressure, but it was not the case with the Mumbai Indians batsman.

A steamy Jofra Archer who had just picked up Rohit Sharma was running in to bowl. Archer launched the ball in short but Suryakumar was up to it. He pulled the ball for a big six over the deep-fine leg fence! It felt as if there was no pressure whatsoever on the batsman. He went on to score 57 runs of 31 balls. Suryakumar Yadav played a monumental role in India’s 4th T20I victory. India won the match and also saved the series in that game.

Look at the shot that Suryakumar Yadav played to announce himself in International cricket:

English commentator Nick Knight was amused at the way Suryakumar began his innings and also carried the same tempo throughout his innings even after this being his first International game. “First ball in international cricket, still he looks absolutely calm and composed,” said Knight while talking about Suryakumar Yadav.

Even in the 5th T20, he did not stop the run flow after Rohit Sharma got out. He scored 32 of 17 balls. Suryakumar Yadav is included in the ODI series for India and he will also be part of the Mumbai Indians’ squad for the upcoming IPL season.
