Dhaka: Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is trending all over social media, not for his brilliant performance or bowling. The cricketer is all over the internet because of his unexpected reaction to the umpire and on the field in a gap of 2 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan lost his temper on two different occasions in one Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match on Friday: he first kicked the stumps, and later uprooted a whole set of them and flung them to the ground.

Shakib was playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club against Abahani Limited when he lost his cool and his animated reaction went viral.  Shakib was furious at the umpire's decision to turn down his lbw appeal against Mushfiqur Rahim.

The second incident came when the umpire called off play due to rain with 5.5 overs of the innings bowled. D/L method would have come into play had 6 overs been bowled, and Shakib was allegedly miffed by the umpire not allowing another delivery before delaying the match.

Watch his reaction:

In the match, being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mohammedan Sporting scored 145/6. Shakib, their captain, top-scored with 37 off 27 deliveries.

Shakib apologises

A few hours after the match, Shakib issued a statement and apologised for his angerer reactions. "Dear fans and followers, I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home," he wrote.

"An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens, unfortunately. I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won't be repeating this again in the future. Thanks and love you all."
