MS Dhoni replied to a fan after he asked him to cheer for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. Dhoni, the skipper of Chennai Super Kings, helped his team win the IPL title last year and confirmed that he would be playing the 2024 season as well.

The Men in Yellow outplayed the Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets, successfully chasing a target of 171 in the rain-marred IPL 2023 final. While interacting with the audience at an event, one of the fans asked Dhoni to support Royal Challengers Bangalore next season and in reply, the CSK skipper said that all the teams are good and it would not be fair if he supported another team in the IPL.

“They are a very good team. But what you also need to know is that in cricket, everything doesn't go according to plan. So If you're talking about the IPL, all the 10 teams, more often than not, if they have the good players, all of them are very strong teams,” said Dhoni.

“The problem arises if you're missing a few players because of injury or reasons like that. So they have a very good team and everyone has a fair chance in the IPL. As of now, I have so many things to worry about in my own team. I'd like to wish every team all the very best. But I can't really do more than that because imagine me going out of the way to help other teams, how will our fans feel?” Dhoni added.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, CSK released eight players and then acquired six players in the auction. The likes of Daryl Mitchell (Rs 14 crore), Sameer Rizvi (Rs 8.4 crore), Shardul Thakur (Rs 4 crore), Rachin Ravindra (Rs 1.8 crore), Mustafizur Rahman (Rs 2 crore), Avanish Rao Aravelly (Rs 20 lakh) were added to the Yellow army.
