Ind Vs Aus: The Indian team did not play to the best of their ability in the initial hours of the session on  Day 1 of the fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad. Told to bowl first, Mohammed Shami started the proceedings for the Indian team. Shami was asked to take rest in the third Test but then he made his way after replacing Siraj in the fourth Test. In the 23rd over of the play, Shami bowled a blinder and showed why he is highly rated.

It was a good length delivery that Labuschagne failed to judge and the ball went straight and destroyed the stumps.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Australia scored a wholesome 255/4 on a batting-friendly surface in Ahmedabad. Usman Khwaja starred with the bat as he batted the entire day and returned to the pavilion unbeaten on 104. Cameron Green also played a crucial knock of 49 off 64 deliveries and remained unbeaten on day 1. His knock helped the Kangaroos to add 106 runs in the final session even after losing two early wickets.

For India, Speedster Mohammed Shami led the attack and took  2 for 65. Ravichandran Ashwin (1 for 57) and Ravindra Jadeja (1 for 49) were the other wicket-takers for the Indians on day 1. This Test match is special because the two nations have completed 75 years of friendship. The Prime Ministers of both nations graced the match by giving a Test cap to both India's and Australia's skippers before the start of the Test match.

Currently, the Indian team are leading the ongoing series by 2-1. But they need one outright win to seal their place in World Test Championship Final that is set to take place in London from June 7.
