Lasith Maling is a legendary name in the world of cricket. There haven't been too many bowlers who have had an impact on the game like him. The right-arm pacer's characteristic sliny action and toe-crushing yorkers were a nightmare for even the world's best batters. He was the backbone of not only the Sri Lankan team but also of the various franchises he represented in league cricket around the world. And now it seems like his son  Duvin Malings is walking the cricketing footsteps of his father.

While the senior Malinga was part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the IPL as a player before he was roped in by Rajasthan Royals in their coaching staff, MI's sister franchise MI New Yorkd did manage to include him as their bowling coach in Major League Cricket (MLC). While the ex-speedster's son Duvin has also travelled with him to the USA, during a net session of the team, the youngster was seen hitting the middle stump with a ball that he bowled.

The Sri Lankan bowling legend was bowling his son from outside the nets. He remarked: "Natural action. He needs to bowl straight and fast. If he beats that, then he can learn the skills."

"When you’re a Malinga and you are on (target), Duvin Malinga has the BEST teacher. We’d know," the video of Duvin hitting the target was captioned by the MLC franchise.

While it is still early days in Duvin's cricketing journey, it would be interesting to see if he goes on to play international cricket like his T20 World-Cup winning father or don the IPL jersey some day.
