Port of Spain: Chris Gayle is the life of any T20 tournament he plays in. Be it IPL, BBL or CPL, he is the attraction.

Gayle, playing in the Caribbean Premier League for Jamaica Tallawahs, scored an unbeaten 108 off just 54 balls to provide the fireworks the tournament was missing. Thanks to Gayle’s scintillating knock, Tallawahs managed to chase down the big target set by Trinbago Knight Riders.

Knight Riders needed to win this match desperately as they ran the risk of sinking low in the points table, and they did their best to post 191. But their hopes were dashed by Gayle storm as the West Indian giant single-handedly took his team home with 7 wickets in hand.

Gayle didn’t perform well in the IPL and the 36-year-old was under pressure to play a good knock in the CPL. Chasing 192 to win, Gayle took his time early on and also got lucky on couple of occasions before unleashing a ferocious assault on the opposition. In his 108-run knock, Gayle hit as many as 11 sixes and 6 fours.
