The former Indian skipper Virat Kohli had a terrific run in the recently passed Test series against West Indies where he scored a brilliant hundred on his 500th international appearance. Despite performing well in the red ball format, Virat only took part in the first ODI as he was rested in the rest of the games. Meanwhile, Virat on Thursday took to his Instagram handle and posted pictures while returning to India on a chartered flight.

Virat thanked the Global Air Charter Services for arranging a special flight for him and he also shared a couple of photos from the plane.

"Thank you @acs_aircharter and @capt.abupatel for arranging my flight and great service too," Kohli captioned the post.

After Indian team management decided to give rest to Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma in the last two ODIs, a lot of former players expressed their disappointment after they were asked to warm benches since the 50-over World Cup is coming. Hardik Pandya was handed over the captaincy duties and he said India wanted to give opportunities to youngsters which is why senior players like Rohit and Virat had been rested.

"Virat and Rohit are very integral part of the team. And, you know, obviously, this was very important for someone like Rutu (Ruturaj Gaikwad) to get a game or Axar (Patel) to get a game because they've been playing cricket for so many years, they know how exactly all these situations have been."

Currently, the Indian team is set to play against West Indies in the five-match T20I series at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, starting on Thursday.  Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the shortest format of the game as stalwarts like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been rested.
